Winter Fair Reimagined—Friday, December 17th

Plans for our beloved event have recently changed! In keeping with our aim to spread joy (instead of Covid), here’s what the day will bring:

  • School Day Activities for DWS students
  • Pop-up Shop and Fireside Farewell for all
  • Online sales of wreaths, gnomes, and children’s activity kits

Scroll down for a list of Pop-Up Shop vendors!

Children's Activities

During the school day (until 12:30pm), students will partake of traditional Winter Fair favorites:

Cookie Heaven

Children’s Shoppe

Musical Performances

To purchase additional activity kits to keep your children crafting over the Winter Break, scroll down and place your order by Tuesday, December 14th. These will be available for pickup during the Winter Fair.

Outdoor Pop-Up Shop & Fireside Farewell

All are welcome to shop our inventory of Waldorf-inspired books and toys and peruse the handmade wares of local artisans.

Time: 12:30-2pm

Location: DWS Playground

During this time, we’ll also gather around a couple of campfires to roast marshmallows, drink hot chocolate, and bid our friends and families a fond farewell before going on Winter Break. Please note that on December 17th, school dismisses at 12:30pm and there is no aftercare. Students attending the Fireside Farewell must be accompanied by an adult.

How to Volunteer

Call for Elfland and Children's Shoppe Items

Items for both Elfland and the Children’s Shoppe may be dropped off in the school foyer.

  • Elfland Materials—Please help our Elfland architects in gathering natural building materials such as moss, pine cones, acorns, sticks, seed pods, dried flowers, shells, pebbles, stones, gems, and dried “nature.”
  • Children’s Shoppe Items—Please donate new items and gently used regiftable goods for the children to purchase when shopping for family and friends. These can include soaps, vases, inexpensive jewelry, socks, ties, pens, gadgets, and more!

On-the-Ground Volunteering

Our team of gnomes could use some help! Learn more on how to become a Winter Fair volunteer by clicking the button below. Tasks include decorating the school, making wreaths, and assembling kits for children’s activities. Volunteers are also needed for setting up Cookie Heaven, Elfland, and the Children’s Shoppe after school on Thursday, December 16th. Please contact Carolyn Goodman for specifics on required documentation for volunteering at DWS.
