Financial Aid

The Denver Waldorf School is committed to economic diversity, and offers two types of Financial Aid (FA) and scholarships. Learn more on FA eligibility requirements, how to apply, and deadlines below.

Financail Aid Eligibility (K-12 Students)

Current and prospective families may apply for Financial Aid if their students are in:

  • Final year of kindergarten (enrolled for 5 full days)
  • Grades 1-12

FA Application Deadlines

We accept Financial Aid applications throughout the school year. However, funds are limited and are awarded on a first come first served basis.

Qualifying Amounts

The typical range of FA offered to eligible families is 5-70% of tuition, minus the class fund portion. The class fund covers costs incurred for class trips and other class-related expenses.

How to Apply

The 3-step process to apply for Financial Aid involves:

  1. School enrollment
  2. Online SSS financial aid application
  3. Meeting with the Financial Aid Committee

School Enrollment

For returning DWS students, please check the Financial Aid box on your unsigned Tuition and Enrollment Contract, and submit it to Admissions Director Karlena Alonso Lamm as soon as possible.

For prospective students, please check the Financial Aid box on your unsigned Tuition and Enrollment Contract, and submit it to Admissions Director Karlena Alonso Lamm as soon as possible.

SSS Financial Aid Application

We use SSS Financial Aid Assessment to collect and verify applicants’ financial data. Doing so helps DWS ensure consistency and objectivity in the evaluation process. Steps include:

  1. Complete the online SSS application and submit the application fee.
  2. Upload supporting documents to SSS such as tax forms, W2s, and schedules. This requirement applies regardless of tax extensions.

*Returning DWS students must be in good financial standing with the Business Office in order to be eligible to apply for FA.

FA Committee Review

It takes approximately 2 weeks for SSS to process each application. Once received, the Financial Aid Committee will review.

In some cases, the Financial Aid Committee will request a meeting with applicants in order to clarify questions concerning their SSS application. If requested, the meeting becomes a mandatory part of the FA process.
