Kyle Conrad
Elementary Movement and Games Teacher
For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students ranging from first grade to high school. I also teach concurrent enrollment Sociology courses for CU Denver, and I teach for Slow Foods—Denver where I introduce students to gardening and cooking sustainable foods across the Denver metro area. I understand the need to foster a holistic education and I deeply value the importance of creating a hands-on, supportive learning environment. I am an educator committed to equity, creativity, and whole-child development, with a strong passion for Waldorf education and its focus on nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse educational and nonprofit settings. My journey began with AmeriCorps service at Tyee High School in Washington, where I mentored a richly diverse student body supporting their academic and personal growth through college prep, conflict resolution, and leadership programs.
Since then, I’ve taught in Jefferson County Public Schools as a Physical Education teacher, worked as a wilderness instructor for Outward Bound Discovery, and held a leadership role with the Girl Scouts of Colorado.
Academically, I hold a Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado, where I focused on issues of inequity in education and I hold an undergraduate degree from Fort Lewis College.
Whether in the classroom, the wilderness, or a community setting, my work is rooted in the belief that education—when done with intention and care—can truly transform lives.
Outside school you can find me gardening, hiking, reading a good book or spending time with family and friends.
