Mckenna Fuentes

Spanish Teacher

Mckenna has been teaching for 13 years, with 11 of those years at the Denver Waldorf School. A proud Waldorf alum herself, Mckenna brings a deep appreciation for the richness of this educational path. Before joining Waldorf, she taught at Bruce Randolph School in Denver Public Schools.

Her background is in Spanish, and she spent a transformative year living in the Dominican Republic. This experience not only strengthened her language skills but also deepened her love of culture and connection. At DWS, she serves as the head of the Spanish Club and organizes student trips to Spanish-speaking countries such as Peru and Costa Rica. These journeys give students the chance to see language, culture, and history come alive beyond the classroom.

Mckenna is originally from Colorado and calls it home. She shares her life with two beloved boxers, Athena and Apollo, who are her everything. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking with her dogs, and playing volleyball.

She hopes her students leave her classroom with curiosity and respect for other languages and cultures, along with a desire to explore the world beyond the United States.
