John Mott

Athletics Director

John Mott is in his seventh year of teaching. He spent two years teaching in Jeffco Public Schools and the last four years at another local private school before joining The Denver Waldorf School.

John first became familiar with The Denver Waldorf School through basketball, as his previous school competed against DWS each year. Through his many visits, he always had wonderful, positive interactions with DWS students, staff, and community. These experiences led him to pursue a position at DWS and made him excited to join the team.

John holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver.

In his PE classes, John hopes students leave with a renewed focus on the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork. He believes these are traits that can be learned through sports and athletics and transferred to everyday life.

Outside of teaching, John enjoys staying active, particularly through activities that take him into the mountains. He loves skiing, hiking, and fly fishing.
