Hannah Colter

English Language Learning Specialist

Hannah’s journey into teaching has been both international and deeply rooted in community care. She first taught English and Math at a school in Tamil Nadu, India- an experience that stayed with her for more than a decade and eventually led her to her role as ELL support at The Denver Waldorf School.

Before joining DWS, Hannah spent much of her career working in anti-violence advocacy across Colorado, particularly focusing on gender-based violence. She brings that same spirit of compassion and resilience into her teaching, creating a space where students feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Hannah holds a BA in Spanish and an MA in Gender and Development Studies. At DWS, she especially loves working one-on-one with students and celebrating their progress as they gain confidence in their language skills.

She lives in Lakewood with her husband and their  cat.
