Cameron Archer
Woodwork Teacher
Cameron Archer brings both skill and heart to the woodshop classroom. A lifelong Waldorf student, Cameron attended The Denver Waldorf School from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 2018. His deep understanding of the Waldorf curriculum, combined with his hands-on experience, shapes his approach to teaching.
Cameron’s favorite teaching methods revolve around learning alongside students. He values the out-of-the-box thinking Waldorf students bring- even when their ideas present woodworking challenges without immediate solutions. In those moments, Cameron models curiosity and perseverance, often revisiting projects on his own so he can return with a process to share. He believes that showing students a tangible representation of their ideas is a powerful way to demonstrate that even the most complex projects are achievable.
In the woodshop, Cameron’s goal extends beyond finished projects- he hopes students leave with a well-rounded set of life skills. Through woodworking, they learn perspective, patience, and creativity in problem-solving, while engaging the “head, heart, and hands” central to Waldorf education. He strives to instill in every student self-confidence, willpower, and a deep sense of satisfaction in their craft.
Cameron discovered his passion for teaching in 2023 when he began assisting with the woodworking program and teaching private lessons to a young Waldorf student. That experience reconnected him to the joy he felt as a child in the woodshop and inspired him to guide the next generation of students.
Outside of teaching, Cameron has run a wooden jewelry business for seven years and traveled extensively through Central and South America, where he used his carpentry skills to build tables, bunk beds, and chairs for hostels and farms. These experiences continue to enrich his teaching, offering students real-world perspectives on the art and practicality of woodworking.
